CHILDCARE
Course content and activities: This course offers young people who wish to work in the Child Care sector a pathway to higher vocational qualifications and employment in this area. Learners gain practical experience of working with children through placement for up to three days per week in a nursery or other child-care settings and work towards the level 2 Certificate in Child care Learning and Development...
Course location: Springboard Islington Hornsey Centre, 1st Floor, Willmot House, Hampden Road, London N8 OHG
Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications are required. However, learners need, as a minimum to be competent to Entry Level 3 in Literacy and Numeracy. They must also demonstrate empathy with children and be reliable.
Additional support available: Functional Skills English, Maths and ICT, Personal and Social Development, Mentoring, Guidance and Jobsearch.
Course duration: The period of time learners spend on the course is based on their identified needs. The maximum length of stay is 35 weeks.
Recruitment: Information sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. The information session includes a course interview and initial assessment.
