E2E Sports & Recreation ACTIVE LEISURE AND LEARNING Course content and activities: This course offers young people who wish to work in the Sport and recreation sector a pathway to higher qualifications or employment in this occupational area. Learners undertake training in practical coaching skills at local sports centres and work towards achieving the Community Sports Leaders Award, Course location: Springboard High Cross Centre, Unit 9, High Cross Trading Centre, Fountayne Road, London N15 4QL Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications are required. However, learners need, as a minimum to be competent to Entry Level 3 in Literacy and Numeracy. They must also demonstrate a genuine interest in sports activity and coaching and ideally have some previous experience of involvement in sport. Additional support available: Functional Skills English, Mathematics and ICT, Dyslexia support, Personal and Social Development, Mentoring, Guidance and Jobsearch. Course duration: The period of time learners spend n the course is based on their identified needs. The maximum length of stay is 40 weeks. Recruitment process: Information sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday afternoon at the Springboard Islington Seven Sisters Road centre. Young people who wish to join the E2E programme then undertake and initial assessment to identify any needs they may have after which they receive an induction.
