NVQ APPRENTICESHIPS Apprenticeships are practical work-based training programmes that provide young people with the skills and qualifications they need to work in the occupational sector of their choice. They form a key part of the Government's workforce development strategy that seeks to ensure that employers have access to the skilled staff that their business needs. Apprentices are required to undertake a framework of awards, which demonstrate their practical competence and underpinning knowledge as well as their competence to the required level in English, Mathemathics and ICT. While the number of awards and qualification that need to be achieved may vary from sector to sector, all apprenticeship frameworks require learners to achieve the following qualifications as a minimum:
Springboard Islington offers the apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning. In most cases, learners join their programme as non-employed Programme-Led apprentices and access the work setting through employment placement or employment when they gained a minimum level of the required skills and knowledge. |
